Rous County Council engaged LRC Geotechnical to complete a detailed geotechnical investigation and report to inform the planning and design of the proposed 900m long upgrade of the DN355 trunk watermain upgrade at Byron Bay. 

The geotechnical works involved: 

• Coordination and management of traffic control and footpath closure to allow drilling. 

• Geotechnical investigation with boreholes to 15m to ascertain geotechnical conditions and groundwater. 

• Geotechnical discussion of results and assessment of feasibility for deep trenchless methods through rock (under-boring) including provision of safe battering and wall support options for launch and receival pits.
